Mitsubishi is Hailing Graph Expo 2012 a Success
The just-concluded four-day Graph Expo 2012, held at Chicago’s McCormick Place South, was a standout for several reasons. Consistently high booth traffic and sales and lead generation that exceeded preshow company targets, to name a few.
“We are extremely pleased with the customer interest we experienced at Graph Expo,” says Marke Baker, printing machinery senior vice president. “The energy on the trade show floor was phenomenal. We drew quality-conscious print service providers from all over the United States. Customers consider Mitsubishi technology an integral part of their production processes that results in higher quality and efficiency.”
Mitsubishi showcased a number of new products and solutions at this year’s Graph Expo, including IPC III, the latest generation of our intelligent automated press control system. A knowledge-based press control terminal with fully compatible digital interface, IPC III allows press operators to execute everything from makeready tasks to press startup to quality color control. The MCCS-e, a spectrophotometer-based, offline color control system that communicates with IPC III, addresses the need for consistent color by controlling for solid area ink density and gray balance.
To further emphasize our focus on automation, Mitsubishi highlighted the new DIAMOND EYE-S system for sheetfed presses. DIAMOND EYE-S combines on-press color and inspection control in one unit. Operators are freed from having to pull samples during print runs or manually perform ink key adjustments.
In addition to automated production solutions, Mitsubishi stressed the efficient ecoUV drying system. ecoUV consists of a single 120 watt lamp instead of the usual three to four 100 watt to 200 watt lamps.

While Mitsubishi underscored product solutions, we also demonstrated strong customer partnerships with major press sale announcements. Packaging specialist The Standard Group acquired a six-color, 41-inch Diamond V3000 sheetfed press for its Southern Standard Cartons facility in Louisville, Ky. One of the nation’s leading independent folding carton converters, The Standard Group most recently installed a 28-inch Diamond 1000LS last May.
