Variable Cutoff Technology Redefines Web Production
The Diamond 16 MAX-V commercial web press is designed to handle a variable range of cutoffs from 21-1/2 inches to 24-5/8 inches. This one press enables production of A-size magazines, B-size inserts or textbooks, and American letter-size jobs with a simple changeover.
The Diamond 16 MAX-V employs different diameter plate and blanket sleeves on the printing unit. The sleeves are refitted over the plate and blanket cylinders in approximately four minutes per unit for fast web cutoff and signature changes. Upper and lower ink trains and dampening rollers are automatically repositioned to accommodate the new cutoff size. In the folder, the speed of the nipping belts is adjusted according to the web cutoffs.
